I want some good ideas for games to get my kids (or us) for Christmas to use for family game nights. We can only play so much Dora the Explorer CandyLand, the hippos aren't so hungry anymore, and we've used up about all the good hiding spots for hide-and-seek. (Okay, we haven't even had that many game nights yet, but we could use some new ideas).
One that has been a favorite for our kids about age 3-4 is Fisher Price Little People "Bingo with Eddie." We've played lots of rounds of Eddie since my mom gave it to Olivia a few years ago.
What are some games you play with your kids? Or some that kids can play on their own, too?
Note to family members - You'll be glad to know that I taught them to play "Grunt Piggy Grunt" the other night.

We LOVE games! Here's our favorites: Cariboo, Balloon Lagoon, Guess Who, Book of Mormon Guess Who, Taradiddle, Uno, Dr. Seuss Rhyme Time, Chutes and Ladders, Charades for Kids...and probably more that I'm forgetting. And for Christmas I bought our family Pictureka and Blokus.
We are game people too!!
We like Blokus, Cloud nine, Hi Ho Cherry O, Slamwhich, and some f the ones Caliean already mentioned. If I remember more I'll email you.
I love Hi Ho CherrieO and played it as a kid. Grunt Piggy Grunt is one of my favorites. Any matching card game is fun.
Connect 4 all the way. Rick and I really get into that. The girls also love uno. Also good old chutes and ladders. My sister always recommends gamewright.com games. You could check those out.

We LOVE a game called Orchard. It's fast, easy, and everyone can play (even Travis will play this one over and over). It's a little pricey, but we play it a lot. We also like playing Pretty, Pretty Princess, but that may offend John (and Jackson's) sensibilities.
Zingo is a fun twist on Bingo, I bought that for my kids this year. (we haven't played it, but they played it at their cousins and liked it.) Also Hullabaloo from Cranium is a big hit. A little young for your oldest, but she might get into it, Anna still does. Good luck! SJ
Right around Olivia's age there is a game called, "The Farming Game for Kids". We have one for kids and one for adults...since you're back in your location you might have already heard about it.
Levi really likes Cranium Cariboo.
We actually play a simple version of pictionary quite a bit. Even thought the kids can't really draw anything recognizable yet, they love having you guess what their scribbles are. and they love to guess ours too, even though they are sometimes unrecognizable too.
Carter's favorites include Candyland, Hi Ho Cherrio, Operation, Go Fish and The Ladybug Game. That last one is new so you'd probably have to google it. Carter got it for his birthday from his Grandma. It's a board game that was created by a little girl that involves being a ladybug, collecting aphids to give the ants, and avoiding the preying mantis. It's really kind of cute.
Maybe you have already gotten some, but here's my input. We love connect 4, zingo, tumble, and let's go fishin. We play with our kids most the time, but they also like to get them out and play on their own a lot too.
Our kids love the game Animal Upon Animal. Great for all ages. I've never seen it in stores, though. We also like Apples to Apples Kids and Wackee Sixes. The last 2 are more for the older kids 6-7+
